FARM PRODUCTS.

IN THE MARKETS.

The stagnation of the past few weeks still pervades the markets. In grain especially is this noticeable, and farmers are not disposed to sell at the rates now being offered. WHEAT. Very little business has been transacted in this commodity during the past few days; millers still have good supplies in hand. The ruling figure for Pearls is 3/7, while exceptional lots have brought as high as 3/8. Tuscans still range from 3/6 to 3/7, and Hunters are unchanged from the prices quoted last week. „ OATS. The oat market is still steady. A grade Gartons are fetching 1/6$ or 1/7, and B grade from 1/5 to 1/6; good seed Algerians are quoted at 1/8 to 1/9. There iB a good enquiry for seed lines. BARLEY. There is much the same feeling vailing in the barley market, and until something is done to get Tid of surplus supplies it will still continue dead. For prime stuff 3/- to 3/3 is being paid, second quality 2/6 and less, CHAFF. Sales have been effected during the week at 45/- per ton for good chaff, but it is anticipated that this figure will shortly be bettered with increasing demand. POTATOES. More of the earlier crops have been dug, and are coming to hand. The crop, however, taken all round, is lighter than anticipated, and it is doubtful if the later dug wifl show any improvement.
