At a sitting of the Commission to investigate the prevalence and causes, of venereal diseases, Dr Douglas White gave evidence that there are three million cases of syphillis of the brain. Ignorance, he said, was the most potent factor in the spread of the disease. He urged for instruction in sex hygiene by means of lectures in the factories.
