WASHINGTON, March 30,

President Wilson has denied the insinuation that he made a deal with Sir W. G. Tyrrell, Sir Edward Grey's private secretary, regarding the ranama tolls exemption and the Mexican question. The President declared that such a suggestion was the crowning insult of a number of insults which had marked the Panama tolls debate.

President Wilson told callers to-day of two debates in a country debating club. When one side was* getting the v/orst of the argument they induced their most muscular champion to call has opponent a liar, thus precipitating a pugilistic contest.
