KITCHEN GUTTED
FIRE AT NEWMARKET A good save was made by the Newmarket Fire Brigade when an outbreak of fire occurred in a five-roomed house at 4 New Street, Newmarket. When the firemen arrived the flames had a strong hold in the kitchen, but it was confined to that room, which was completely gutted. The fire started shortly before 9 o’clock, and a neighbour who noticed smoke and flames coming through the roof gave the alarm. The hopse was occupied by Mr. Jambs Grainger, but there was no one home at the time.
