TENNIS TOUR INVITED
LETTER TO SOUTH AFRICA IGNORED PROFIT FROM AUSTRALIANS Press Association ' WELLINGTON, Today. The New Zealand Tennis Association has received no reply to its invitation to South Africa to send a team to New Zealand. It considers New Zealand cannot finance a tour without assistance from Australia, but the latter does not consider South Africa will be a sufficient draw. It was suggested at a meeting of the council that a Japanese team might bo invited and this found favour. The recent visit of an Australian team resulted in a net profit, after refunding the small losses on some games, of £53. It was reported that Auckland did better than any other centre.
