PAEROA NOTES
The members of the Paeroa Volunteer Fire Brigade held a social to present honours to the firemen and secretary. Superintendent W. J. Moore presided. and presented the honours as follow*: Fireman W. E. Ward, a bar for 27 years’ service; bar to Fireman H. J. Wilton, nine years’ service; bar to Fireman H. Robinson, seven years’ service; medal to Secretary C. W. Malcolm, five years’ service as secretary. * * • At the half-yearly meeting of the Loyal Paeroa Lodge of Oddfellows, N.G. Bro. McQuillan, presided, with V.O. Sister Heappey in the vice chair. The half-yearly election of officers resulted. a-s. follows: N.G., Sister V. Heappey; V.G., Bro. F. Knight; E.S., Sister J. Butler. Nurse Tassell has been appointed io take charge of the Paeroa School dental clinic, in place of Nurse Lucy Ellis, who has been transferred to Devon port.
