MR. W. H. SEFTON MOORHOUSE
The death is announced from Wellington of William Henry Sefton J oorhouse, aged 69, eon of the late William Sefton Moorhouse, superintendent of Canterbury, and a former Mayor of Wellington. During the wax* Mr. Moorhouse as chairman of one of the mil tary appeal boards, and at the conclusion of the war was appointed chairman of a commission to inquire into and make recommendations in respect to the changing of the military administration to a civil administration.—P.A. MR. CHARLES C. HOWARD The death of Mr. Charles C. Howard, a retired schoolmaster, has occurred in Auckland at the age of 87. Mr. Howard was bom at M iekleham, Surrey, in 1842, coining to the Dominion in the sailing ship Rangitiki in 1876. After a fevr years as head of the Christchurch Normal School, he took charge of the*old Teachers' Training College at Wellington. He was headmaster at Picton when bis 50 years of service, begun in England, came to a close. He was appointed headmaster of the Government Boys’ College at Nukualofa, Tonga, in i9lO. returning to Auckland two years later -o take up private coaching. He retired only a few "weeks before his death.
