NEW GOVERNOR-GENERAL
BROTHER AS MILITARY SECRETARY FOUGHT IN TWO WARS LO.VDOX, Thursday. Lord Bledisloe, Governor-General designate of New Zealand, has appointed Major H. Bathurst. Ins brother, as military secretary llis regiment, the Royal Berkshire, is affiliated with the First Hawke's Bav Regiment. Major Bathurst served in the African War and in the Great War. and afterward was private secretary for Lord Irwin, when the latter was Und< r-Secretary for the Colonies. Major Bathurst is a keen social and church worker. Sir John Ludlow llanham, Bart., is likely to be the aide-de-camp; He is a nephew of Lord Bledisloe’s first wife. The date has not yet been fixed for Lord Bledisloe’s departure for New Zealand, but it is understood that he will sail late in February. Those persons who are aware of the association of the name of the Chief of the-Air StafT, Sir Hugh Trenchard, with the New Zealand vacancy, predict that Sir Hugh will shortly be appointed to a similar post in Australia.
