V PUKEKOHE SALE OFFERINGS WELL SOUGHT (From Our Otctt Correspondent) PUKEKOHE, Thursday. Springing heifers, beef and fat and store pigs met with keen demand at Alfred Buekland and Sons’ sale at Pukekohe today. There was a good yarding of springing heifers, and prices showed an improvement. An average number of beef cattle were penned, more steer beef being offered than usual. They sold at late rates. There was an increase in the number of pigs penned. Bidding was spirited, fats and stores selling at prices ruling at Westfield. Quotations:— Dairy.—Best springing heifers sold from £l3 5s to £l6 10s; good quality heifers. £l3 5s to £ls; good sorts, £lO to £l3: baekward, £5 to £9 10s; best dairy cows realised up to £10; good cows, C 7 to £8 10s; poor and backward, £3 to £6 10s.
