STEADY FRUIT SALES CAULIFLOWERS GLUTTED Little change is apparent in fruit sales in the city marts and the clearances during the week have been steady. All lines of apples are commanding a good inquiry, with special attention for choice lots. Pears are slightly slower of sale at the moment. Island oranges are being sought and Australian navel oranges are on a better market. Poormans and lemons, however, are not able to excite a keen inquiry. Australian Fruit A small quantity of Australian citrus fruit has come on the market through Wellington. Cauliflowers are glutted in-the vegetable market. Cabbages, swedes and pumpkins are also particularly heavily supplied. Increased offerings of poultry today met with a keen demand. Last week’s better prices were fully maintained, choice cockerels being subject to brisk bidding. Hens sold well and a big penning of turkeys was cleared.
