MANGERE GATHERING
FAREWELL TO MR. AND MRS. GOSSMAN A large ' gathering of residents of Mangere, presided over by Mr. M. B. Kirkbride, assembled in the Public Hall, Mangere Centra], for the purpose of bidding farewell to Mr. and Mrs. Gossman and family, who are leaving the district after a residence of 40 years. Mr. Kirkbride, in presenting Mr. Gossman with a large oak case of cutlery, referred to their work on behalf of the district, more especially Mr. Gossman’s activities in church and school committee other speakers being Messrs. W. Wakefield, Scott and Rickards. Musical and vocal items were given by several local residents and ay Mr. and Mrs. Rennie, of Auckland. A dainty supper and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” brought a successful gathering to a close.
