Aliss L. AI. Nicliolls has left Hamilton for a holiday in Wellington. Airs. J. Clachan has returned to Hamilton from a visit to Alasterton. Airs. A. W. Bisley has returned to Hamilton from a visit to Wellington. Aliss I. Jordan, of Te Kuiti, is the guest of Aliss Christophers in Cambridge. Air. and Airs. A. E. Peppercorn have returned to - Leamington after two months in Australia. SALE OF AVORK A successful sale of work was held in the Diocesan School grounds on Tuesday afternoon. The object o£ the afternoon was to raise funds for the grounds of the new school, and the useful sum of £7O was obtained. Afternoon tea, clock golf and stalls for fancy work, flowers, produce and sweets were well patronised by those present. BRIDGE CONTEST A very enjoyable match between the Frankton Hill and the River Road Bridge Clubs took place on Tuesday night at Airs. F. Jolly’s home in Frankton Hill. Airs. Jolly received her guests in a handsome frock of black georgette. Her drawing room and supper rooms were delightfully attractive with masses of spring flowers. The match ended in a win for tho Hill Club, Airs. Jolly obtaining the highest score for her side and Airs. Valder, sent*., for the River Road Club. The Frankton Hill players were: Airs. F. JOII3', Airs. AY. D. Ross, Airs. L. Sheppard, Airs. P. Stewart, Mrs. E. P. Cowles, Mrs. H. Hopkins, Aliss C. Jolly and Aliss B. Derenzy. The River Road players were: Airs. J. D. Smith, Airs. J. SURPRISE DANCE A gay little surprise dance party visited the home of Airs. F. Bullock on Alonday night, when Aliss Joyce Pratt took some of her friends to farewell Aliss Elese Bullock. Dancing, competitions and pingpong made much merriment for the young people. Airs. Bullock’s frock was of rose crepe de chine. Aliss Elese Bullock wore a becoming frock of apricot ring velvet. Miss Pratt was in a cerise crepe de chine gown. The others girls were: Aliss Phyllis Bullock, Aliss Doris Pratt, Aliss L. Hume, Aliss N. Sergei, Aliss K. Tompkins, Aliss B. Houlden, Aliss J. Templar, Aliss P. Tait and Aliss AI. King. GUILD “AT HOME” On Alonday afternoon the members of St. George’s Guild had a very enjoyable afternoon party in St. George's Hall. Airs. F. Jolly and Airs. Anchor were the hostesses. A bright reading of Gertrude Jennings's one-act comedy, "Fine Birds in a Cage,” was given by Airs. Bullock, Airs. Staples, Airs. T. Campbell, Airs. J. Prenton and Aliss G. Eggleston. An amusing recitation was given by Airs. A. W. Green. Later two competitions were won by Airs. Knapp and Airs. C. Holloway.
