THE LAST LAP
C.A.C. PHOTOGRAPHIC CONTEST The C.A.C. great amateur shooting photographic contest, after successfully running for five months, is now drawing to a close. Next Thursday, August 1, is the day fixed for the closing of the contest:, and no entries can be acknowledged after that date. Interest and enthusiasm increases as the closing date approaches, and each mail brings big batches of entries. To select 38 prize-winning photographs from the already large number of entries will be no easy task for the judges. Credit must be given the Colonial Ammunition Company for inaugurating this novel contest, and the company has thoroughly deserved the enthusiasm with which the contest has been received by sportsmen throughout the Dominion. Many of the competing photographs show the wonderful bags secured bj r duck shooters during the season, while deer-stalking has proved a popular subject for photography. Intending entrants are urged to send m their shooting photographs immediately. If snapshots have not yet been made—take them tomorrow—it will be the last opportunity. The cash prizes are really worth while, 38 of them divided as follows: £2O first prize, *5 second prize, £2 10s third prize, £lO divided in ten prizes of £1 each, —l2 10s divided in 25 prizes of 10s each. The Colonial Ammunition Company expects to be able to announce the result of the competition about the end of August. Tomorrow will be the last opportunity to take photographs—the competition definitely closes August 1.
