“SUMMER TIME” MEDAL
HON. T. K. SIDEY HONOURED FOR STUDY OF LIGHT Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. At a meeting of the “Summer Time” Appreciation Committee, it was decided to hand over from the funds not less than £SOO to the New Zealand Institute. The funds were donated mostly by shilling subscriptions by those who desired to express their appreciation of the passing of the Summer Time Act. It is proposed to use the amount to provide a medal to be known as the “T. K. Sidey Summer Time Medal,” to be presented at intervals of some years, together with a monetary prize, for the best contribution to our knowledge of light in relation to human welfare. With regard to the re-enactment of a summer time measure, it was decided to leave the whole question in the Hon. T. K. Sidey’s hands to act in any way he considers most desirable, having regard .to the state of the new House on the question.
