£5,000 FOR CHARITIES
LATE MRS. M. CHOWEN’S BEQUESTS BLIND INSTITUTE TO GET £I,OOO Press- Association PALMERSTON N., Today. Under the will of the late Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Chowen, of Palmerston North, the bequests included: to the Building and Finance Committee of the Palmerston North Baptist Church building fund or to other general trust purposes as the committee thinks fit: £I,OOO to the Cuba Street Methodist Church for the installation of a pipe-organ, erection of a tower and the liquidation of any remaining debt on the church property, subject to a life interest for her daughter: £I,OOO each to the Presbyterian Girls’ Orphanage, Wellington, the Methodist Orphange, Masterton. and the Jubilee Institute for the Blind at Auckland.
