TRACK VERY HEAVY (Special to THE SUN) HASTINGS, Today. The Hastings track is still very heavy, the best horses finding difficulty in going a mile better than 2.35. The weather is now line, and the footing should improve the next two days. Electric Gold pleased the touts today with a solid effort over a mile and alialf, while Ngahuia showed the best form over a mile course. Loch Bank went nicely, gaining many friends. Denvers Huia is a solid pacer, but is suffering from a severe cold. All Red gave a good display over two miles,, but had had enough at the finish. Nothing looks better than Logan’s Pride, who handled the going in good style. My Thorpe showed to ad\*antage over ten furlongs, and Great Parish was much admired while moving over a similar journey. Polly’s Picture and Horizon worked soundly over two miles, and are fancied here for their engagements. Of the trotters seen out Alton Brook handled the track best, and will be in demand. Carnui’s display was promising, but after cooling down was showing signs of knee trouble. The Waikato trotters Paradigm and Te Ngatu moved well over two miles. The latter is under W. Inmer’s charge. A. McMillan is due tonight with Vanity Boy, Enawah and Te Wahia.
