COUNTY CHAIRMAN RETIRES
NINE YEARS IN OFFICE (From Our Own Correspondent) KAITAIA, To-day. Mr. A. H. Long, chairman of the Mangonui County Council, chairman of the Awanui Harbour Board and a member of the North Auckland District Highways Council, has announced his retirement from local affairs. Mr. Long has been member for the Awanui riding for 18 years, and county chairman for nine years. The council has overcome many difficulties during the past nine years, and to-day has a good working policy and a credit balance in the general account of £ 8,950.
