INTER-HOUSE SPORTS

PRESENTATION OF PRIZES The prizes won at the Auckland Inter-house Girls’ Sports Association’s recent display staged at Carlaw Park were presented at a supper held by the association in the Orange Hall last evening. The fixture was favoured with a large attendance, there being, besides numerous members of rival • sports teams, clad in the uniforms at their respective houses, members of the committee and representatives of business firms. The president of the association, Miss E. Wagner, was in the chair. After addresses had been given by Mr. George Rhodes, president of the Auckland Rugby League and the president of the association, the prizes were then presenetd by Miss H. Farland, past president of the association. The awards were:—Victory Cup, presented by the Auckland Drapers and Mercers’ Association, Milne and Choyce; Sharman Cup, presented by Mr. and Mrs. Sharman, R. Greer and Sons and Milne and Choyce, equal; Physical Culture Cup, presented by George Court, Ltd., R. Greer and Sons; Marching Cup, presented by the wholesale drapery houses, John Court, Ltd.; 75yds Cup, presented by the buyers of John Court, Ltd., Miss Totman (Milne and Choyce); Relay Cup, presented by the directors of John Court, Ltd., Ambler and Company. During the evening a vote of thanks was passed to the secretary, Mrs. M. Fraser, and a presentation was made to the organiser, Lieut. T. P. Laffey.
