BOYS’ MARATHON
(From Our Own Correspondent) TE PUKE. Saturday. Great interest was shown in the boys' Marathon race on Friday afternoon. The Te Puke Chamber of Commerce arranged the race from the school to the post office. The winner was Norman Barrow and the second Leslie Shepherd. Eric "Wilson came in third. The Tauranga Electliio Power Board employees donated a handsome silver cup to the winner. Mr. H. O. Cooney, chairman of the Te Puke Town Board, presented the cup to Master Barrow. Leslie Shepherd received a cricket bat and ball, and he third prize of a shirt and braces went to Eric Wilson.
