Western have to play off the other semi-final. In the junior final at Titirangi S. Gyllies beat W. Aitken, 2 and 1, and will now play off the final of the title, meeting J. Gilmour, who won the play-off at One Tree Hill. Gyllies and Gilmour will play 18 holes at each links. AKARANA In the flag match played at Akarana, on Saturday the wanner was A. J±L Young, who carried his flag to the 20th hole. AUCKLAND TITLE The second round of the Middlemore championship on Saturday resulted:—R. IX Wright beat W. S. Ralph, 4 and 3; H. Plumley beat JX MacCormick, 3 and 2; W. N. Abbott beat A. Boddington, 1 up; H. L. Rees beat L. W. Delph, 4 and Junior Championship.—First round: E. J. Richardson beat W. Wilson, 6 and 4; B. S. Finn beat F. A. Smith, 2 and 1; H. Henderson beat J. F. Ewen, 1 up; M. Louisson beat W. V. Robinson, 4 and 2; W. Pavitt beat E>. Poison, 5 and 3; B. C. Hart beat T. M. Holmden, 1 up; E. B. McDonald beat W. MacCormick at the 10th. The match between C. R. Palmer and O. L. Taylor has not yet taken place, but will he played before next Saturday. The final of the C grade championship between W. A. Gunn and A. M. Smith was played, and the former won, 6 and 4. A bogey competition was also held on Saturdav and was won by D. MacCormick, who finished 2 up. The next best cards were those of H. Horton and H. Tidmarsh, 1 up. ONE TREE HILL A medal competition at One Tree Hill on Saturday resulted: —J. W”. Clarke, 80—8, 72; P. Fraser, 92—20, 72. WHANGAREI The closing of the golf season at Whangarel on Saturday was made the occasion for the presentation of prizes by the president of the club, Mr. D. B. Blair.
