THIRTEEN KILLED
RAILWAY SMASH IN INDIA POLICE FIRE ON STRIKERS (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.* Reed. 12.16 p.m. MADRAS, Thurs. Thirteen were killed in a collision between a bus and a railway engine near Trichinopoly. A crowd of strikers attacked the enginedriver, and the police opened fire, injuring four.
Trichinopoly is the capital of a district in Madras, in Southern India. The majority of the population are Hindus.
