BUSH PRESERVATION
MT. EDEN DOMAIN An offer has been obtained for the preservation of about 31 acres of kauri bush at Waimauku, according to the annual report of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture, to be presented at the annual meeting on Monday evening. The report expresses the hope that tho efforts of the executive will result in the preservation of the area. The citrus committee made satisfactory progress in bud selection, and the executive was now conducting research work on citrus varieties in conjunction with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. Professor H. H. <Corbin, in his presidential address to be delivered at the annual meeting, intends to deal chiefly with horticultural education and the use of public reserves. The Mount Eden Borough Council has invited representatives of the Auckland council of the institute to inspect the mountain domain on Monday morning. They will confer with representatives of the Mount Eden Domain Board and other interested bodies concerning the planting work to be carried out.
