“THE MISSING LINK”

COMING TO MAJESTIC Charles F. Reisner, versatile director of Warner Bros.* production of “The Missing: Link,’* starring Syd. Chaplin, has added one more to the list of his accoi#plishments. He has become an animal trainer. In “The Missing Link,” Akka, a remarkably intelligent chimpanzee, has a large role. At first his trainer directed Akka altogether, but it was not long until the director and the monk were on the best of terms. Reisner began to take over his direction more and more until near the end of the picture he could direct him without any aid whatever from the master. “I treat him like a human being,” said Reisner, when asked the secret of his power. “Akka is like.a child. Being an experienced father, I found it an easy matter to direct him, after I caught on to his several little mental quirks.” “The Missing Link” is a huge, rib-tickling, breath-taking comedy of mishaps, telling the story of a timid voung man who is forced to become ‘an African lion hunter. The cast includes Ruth Hiatt, Crauford Kent, Tom McGuire, Sam Baker and many others, as well as hundreds of savages and wild jungle denizens.
