MOUNT ROSKILL PIONEER
DEATH OF MR. A. BOYD A resident of Mount Roskill for 5S years, Mr. Alexander Boyd died on Monday at the age of 74. Mr. Boyd came to New Zealand from Glasgow with his parents in 1565, and tor a few years wt 5 at a mission station in the Bay of Islands. Coming ta Auckland in 1869, he farmed at Mount Roskill, spending all his life on the same property. One of the iirst members of the Mount Roskill School Committee, he was also at one time a member of the Mount Roskill Road »oard. Mrs. Boyd died'24 years ago. Mr. Boyd is survived by six daughters and one son. Miss Boyd, Auckland: Mrs. B. Blair. Pukekohe; Mrs. R. MoseWaiuku; Mrs. G. Harrison. Onehunga; Misses Ada and Agnes Boyd, Motint Roskill, and Mr. A. Boyd, Mount Roskill. There are nine grandchildren. A vote of condolence with the rolaUves of Mr. Boyd was passed at the meeting of the Mount Roskill Road Board last night.
