TOTAL SHOWS DECREASE PEDESTRIAN TOLL INCREASES Compared with the las; three months of 1926 the first quarter of 1927 has, according to a return covering Greater Auckland supplied by Police Superintendent Wohlmann, shown a decrease in street accidents. Though there is a decrease in the number of collision cases tbe number of accidents involving pedestrians shows no improvement. Six deaths and injury .o 61 persons was this year’s total up to March 31. In the last quarter of IM2O the figures were 11 and 79 respectively. Vehicular accidents totalled 219 s against 280, while the number of collisions with pedestrians for the year totalled 90, compared with 89.
