Mr and Mrs Neal Douglas left for Dunedin this morning on holiday.

Mrs N. H. Moss left on Friday for a visit to Wellington, which will be spent with friends.

Mrs C. Hart was a visitor to New Plymouth during the week to see her mother Mrs Smith.

Miss Hargreaves Wellington is at present the guest of her sister Mrs Lyons.

Miss M. Power returned to Welling ton on Tuesday after the term holi days spent with her people.

Mrs Yarndley returned on Monday from her place in the Waikato, where she spent the holidays with her son.

Mrs Washer has been the guest of her daughter Mrs Neal Douglas. She left for her home in Hawera on Thursday.

Mrs H. E. Nowell of Ngaere who is an inmate of the Stratford Hospital is making satisfactory progress towards recovery.

The engagement is announced of Mary Angela, only child of Mr W. Perry, Bolton Street, Wellington, to Charles Sponce, elder son of Mr and Mrs J. S. Lyons, Stratford.

Mrs E. H. Young, President and Mrs F. P. Uniacke Secretary of the Central Taranaki Circle of the British Drama League will leave for Wellington on Friday. Miss Evelyn Moon will accompany them.

The resignation of Miss A. G. Keddie lady superintendent of Ihe Wiaikato Hospital, has been received, Miss Keddie was trained at Tiniaru, and became matron at Oamaru. During the war she served as a nursing sister on the hospital ship Maheno. She was then appointed lady superintendent at the Southland Hospital. Seven years ago Miss Keddie was appointed to take charge of the Waikato hospital nursing staff. Miss Keddie reaches the retiring age on January 31, when .she relinquishes her present position.
