Tirnaru, April 23. —Several thousand people attended the opening of a Catholic novitiate at CJaremont, ten miles from Tiniaru, this afternoon. This is the first novitiate to be established in New Zealand and is to be known as St. Joseph's. The csremony was performed ..by Archbishop Redwood, assisted by Bishops Liston (Auckland), Brodie (Christchurch) and Brother Berignus, New Zealand Provincial of the Marist Brothers, who k director of the Sacred Heart College at Auckland.
