Wellington, April 22.—Fatal injuries to the head were sustained by Mrs. Mildred Pippard, 43 Ellice Street, when she was knocked down by a tram in Kent Terrace at 8.35 p.m. yesterday. Frederick Doell, aged 50, residing at 38 Wallace Street, who was accompanying Mrs. Pippard, was also knocked down by the tram and sustained a fractured right arm, abrasions to the head and shock.

I The tram was travelling from Lyall Bay to Lambton station and the accident took place a few yards past the Elizabeth Street points. It is understood Mrs. Pippard and Mr. Doell had come down Elizabeth Street and were crossing over to Cambridge Terrace whtn the accident occurred. Rain was falling and it is stated that visibility at the time was poor.
