BOROUGH COUNCIL
(To the Editor) Sir, —It amazed me to read “AntiHitler’s” letter of last evening. I really think he should have left out the first part of his non de plume, and signed himself Hitler, as he certainly dictates to all budding councillors what they must do, and if they refuse, then the ratepayers must vote them out (Hitler for sure). Certainly, according to your paper, Mr. McMillan in his remarks when speaking to the reporter and when agreeing to contest the Mayoralty, asked for the support of the incoming councillors to rearrange the staff, and by doing so reduce the rates. He only asked for this support as the present council were expected to do so. It’s a pity the chairman, Mr. Finnerty, did not quickly put a stop to the wrangle on Monday evening. After all, it was only a trifling matter. We hope the coming elections will be carried out in the most friendly manner Of course we would welcome some fun; it would cheer us up. Thanking you, Mr. Editor. —I am, etc., FAIR PLAY.
