BUTTER ON RAILS
ATTEMPT TO CAUSE TRAIN TO SLOW DOWN TRAMP’S USE SYDNEY, March 15. Rails on the line from Junee to Hartford, New South Wales, were found to be greased with butter the other morning, causing me mail train difficulty in making the grade. It is thought tramps greased the line in order to cause the train to slow down and enable them to “jump the rattler.”
