RECEPTION FOR DELEGATES
PAN-PACIFIC MEETING A very largely attended reception, jointly given by the Lyceum Cluu and me Auckland branch of me National council of Women lo the Australian and New Zealand delegates to tne PanPacific Conference, to be held in Honolulu shortly, took place in the Lyceum Club, Auckland, on Monday evening. The lounge had been attractively decorated with ferns and foliage and bowls of winter flowers. The president of the club, Mrs. W. H. Parkes, on behalf of the members, welcomed the guests, and in her speech referred lo the gathering winch was held two years ago to welcome returning delegates from a similar conference. Among tlie many speakers was Miss Elsie Andrews, wflo spoke particularly of the native people of the Pacinc. She said she liked to feel that the idea of such conference as the one to which they were going was originated by the late Mr. Mark Cohen, to whom the welfare of women ana children was very dear indeed.
