KING'S THEATRE. H. B. WARNER AND LOIS WILSON. t JN" ' I FR ENGH~])RESSING.'' Only after the most careful scrutiuisation of many of the leading stars in Hollywood were H. B. Warmer and l Lois Wilson finally selected to portray the leading roles in First National's super drama., "Freni-h Dressing." The dual, supporting roles fell to | Clive, Brook, who will be remembered lor his outstanding work as the Gentian spy in "Three Faces East," 1 ' I and Libyan Tasmriari, whose characterisation of the "Gold Digger" type j has made* her much sought after by I the 'foremost producers. The story is woven around the society of that gay capital Paris, and many beautiful scenes of that city's life have been obtained by the company going direct to Paris for the occasion. Leaving the beaten track of- every day drama, an unusual theme has been arrived at, and the "see it again" feeling has been installed. Despite' the inclement weather last night there wa iS a very large attendance at the social held in the Parish Hall' under the auspices of the Tar anaki Provincial Scottish Society. Between dances several vocal items were given aric'J a number of those present played cards. The [hall had" been prettily decorated by Mr s C. Moarfe, and presented a very attractive appearance. The ladies' committee in charge of the'function consisted "of Mesdames Moore, Petrie, Johnson, Young, Morrison) McDonald, Smart, Jeihison and others, wlide assisting the chief, Mr C. Moore, audi the »?0retary, Mr D. M. Clarke, on the meh\s committee were Messrs Petri®, Jeihison, Young, Mcintosh and M<> Beth. Those who contributed items included Miss" Massey and Mr R. Hook (songs), Mrs McGregor (elocution), rand Messrs Petrie and Kennedy (clog dance). Meesrs Moore and Duncan acted as M'.'sC, while Boulton's orchestra supplied the music.

FTRE BRIGADE! EUCHRE. There wa« a good attendance at tho Fire Brigade's euchre party, held last night, and ah enjoyable time was . spent. The Mies' first prize was won by Mr,s.
