CONSERVATIVES IN REVOLT. JEERS FROM LABOUR PARTY. LONDON, July 3. In the House of Commons tiie Finance Bill debate created an exciting situation and the most formidable revolt of the Conservatives during the present Parliament. Sir H. C. Buckingham moved to| delete the provision that the estate of a deceased super-tax payer should be charged for the last full year of his life, contending that this would entail the payment of double tax for the year and the Treasury would, unjustly gain £1,00(>,00o a year. Sir Robert Herne, Sir J. A. R. Marriott and the Hdn. J. Gretton joined in the protest. The Labour members did not, participate, but, interrupted and jeered'. Sir H. C. Buckingham pressed the motion to a division, hut it was defeated by 200 rotes to l 59, Labour members and Liberals not voting.
