TRIBUTE TO HEENEY
PAID BY TUNNEY. "HE IS A HUGGED PUNCHER" NEW YORK, June 26. Speaking of the forthcoming contest Timney stated: "Heeney is a .rugged puncher. Younger and in better condition that Dempsey, he will ' be -a more formidable opponent than the latter. Ido not believe Heeney can punch as hard as Dempsey, but "in a fifteen^-onnd bout, in which the shifting of the crown might depend on the decision, Heeney certainly is a more dangerous opponent than Dempsey might he." Tunney ridiculed the idea of making him a four to one favourite over Heeney. "Utiy man who works himself to the position of the foremost challenger cannot be rated as a one to four opponent," he said.
