POLICE INVESTIGATIONS.

Tb.e detectives who are investigating.the Eastbourne horror during the night called up several vessel s bound for South Africa, in consequence of information .that Miss Kay said in March that she would soon be marrying and going to Africa. She was fair, with bobbed' hair, and was last seen in the bungalow on 12tl April. Apparently, the inquiries were resultless. because after a l .! day-long inquiries, the police announced they were satisfied the victim was Kay, whose occupation wa< a bookkeeper.

The police are digging up the bungalow garden in the hope of discovering the victim's missing head. There is no trace yet of the darkhaired woman, who also visited the bungalow. • Patrick Mason, the detained mar., is known to have a wife, for wnqm the .police are seeking.
