Representative Britten (Republican) a member of the Naval Committee, announced that he would introduce a resolution in the House to-day for the purpose of ascertaining the strength of the United States Navy compared to Britain and Japan, tiesaid he would call the attention of the country to the shocking state of its unproparedness in a naval sense, adding: "1 am. certain our Navy is not on a parity with that of Gre*lt Britain. I am not so sure that Japan is very far behind us, notwithstanding our light under the Washington Conference Treaty to be nearly twice her size."
