English magazines to hand from tlio publishers, per Mr A. A. Thompson, include “The Yellow Magazine,” for July. The issue of this popular magazine contains many stories of thrilling adventure, love and drama. ‘‘The Hazard of Youth” by E. Nor- , man Torry, is both interesting and humorous. Other stories display the attractive talents of Elizabeth Glayde, Wallace Irwin, Selwyn Jepson, A. M. Burrage, James Ban- and many others. ‘‘Tlie Violet Magazine,” for June, begins a brilliant new serial by William B. Groves, entitled “The Woman at Bay,” and contains, also “The Extravagant Mrs Strange”—a domestic drama by Malcolm Arnold, “The Smiling Man” by Effie Soott, “TVust a Dog” by Hyatt Freeman, “A Maid of Old Seville” by Leonard Halls, and many other stories written by well-known authors.
