AMUSEMENTS.

THE KING'S THEATRE, TO-NIGHT. "PAGAN LOVE." "Pagan Love," a Hodkinson feature which was " screened at the King's Thetre last evening, struck an entirely different note fro:) the usual run of film productions. The picture opens in China, and then reverts to New York, where life in the Bowery is cleverly depicted. The story concerns a young China-' man editor of a Chinese paper, who falls in love with a benutiful young Hind girl, who not knowing that her benefactor is a Chinaman, reciprocates his affections. A college chum of the Chinaman, now an eye specialist, operates upon the girl and restores her sight. The complications which take place when the girl recognises that her lover is a Chinaman, and the most unexpected turn which the story takes provides an interesting evening's entertainment. Commencing at the matinee tomorrow afternoon, Justine Johnstone will be seen In her latest picture "The plaything of Broadway." Other items include "Torchy's Knighthood" also the latest Australian Gazette. WHAREHUIA TO-NIGHT. A reminder is given of the plain and fancy dress ball at Wharehuia to-night. PEMBROKE ROAD DANCE.
