Stratford High School

OLD PUPILS* ASSOCIATION. AN ENJOYABLE FUNCTION. Youth and Beauty were the predominaait features of the annual ball at the Town Hall, Stratford, last night under the auspices of the Stratford High School Old Pupils' Association. The scene while thi dancing was in progress -was very attractive. It was a blaze of color. The decorations overhead in streamers of Red and Black, the School colors, with flags and other festoonery, blended with pretty dresses. Many of the young people were still in their teen:3 but their education in matters Terpsichot ean had evidently not been neglected. In the Jazz and the One-Step they were equally at home as in the mazy waltz or plain schottisohe. With Youth's bright eyes and smiles, the evening went merrily on, and iti the; small hours of this morning the company seemed loth to depart; it was round about three o'clock when )the laist 'jaded Jazz jiggers were homeward bound. The official attendance was given as 250 couples, such a crowd fdling the floor space at times to overorowding, but the evening was unanimously voted very enjoyable. The supper room had been very nicely arranged by Mr Yinsen and his assistants, and the fare and service were favorably commented upon. Music was supplied by Richardson's orchestra, and was greatly appreciated. Extras wore played by Miss Taylor, Miss Nash, Mrs Gairter and Miss Webster. The chaperones were Mesdames R. Masters, J. W. Boon, L. J. Furrio, and A. H.R.. Amess.. The masters of ceremonies were 1 Messrs A. H. R. Amess, P. Skoglund, Pappsy/and 0. Till. Buring the evening/Mr Amess hriefiy addressed the gathering, impressing upon ex-pupils the advisability of becoming members of the Association. Last night's function was really the first of its kind conducted by the Association, the dance held last year in the Technical High School buildings being a small affair in comparison. Judging from its success, the ball promises to be one of the annual events of the social year in Stratford. Mr A. Rawl.es was secretary and Mr A. R. Masters treasurer, and with the committee they are to be congratulated on the management.
