OFF CONSTANTINOPLE. BRITISH SUBMARINE’S SUCCESS UNITND PuE*9 AfiBOOX ATIOK Rome. June 17. Another British submarine reached Constantinople and sank two vessels and a large steamer at the Golden Horn. All the forts and warships fired, but did not hit the submarine. THREE TRAMSPJORTS SUNK. Athens, June 17. A British submarine on Wednesday torpedoed and sank three transports beyond Nagara. The greater part of tiie troops and crews were drowned. Two gunboats were escorting the troopships. REPORT FROM CONSTANTINOPLE
Wellington, June 18. The High Commissioner reports under date London, June 17, 7.40 p.m.: Authentic reports indicate .that the Australian and New Zeaaland officers who are prisoners of war at Constantinople are Well treated. The following has reached London from Captain McDonald, an Australian officer: “1 am in Constantinople with other prisoners of war. We have received great kindness from the Turkish officers and have received an advance of pay from the commandant, Djead Bey. COMPLAINTS OF BELATED NEWS. (Received 9.50 a.m ) Sydney, June 19. Many complaint® are being made concerning be'atcd news and wrong infc nnation in the official casualty lists, and these are being made evident byprivate letters. Private Larkin was killed prior to May 1, and the relatives were officialaly notified on 17th June.
