NEW ZEALANDERS.

CHARGE OF INHOSPITALITY REFUTED. BY SIR WILLIAM RUSSELL. (Received 7, 8.5 a.m.) Perth, December 7. Recently an article by Mr. Simons, in charge of the Young Australia League boys touring America, appeared in the local press stating the strong antipathy shown by New Zealanders to the Australians, evidences of which were observed during the hoys’ stay in Wellington. ' Sir William Russell, who is returning to_ New Zealand by the Mooltan, interviewed, declared that it was all nonsense. The only feeling entertained towards the Australians was one of cordiality and good-fellowship. New Zealanders had an intense love of their own country, hut to say that they despised Australians in the Dominion was ridiculous. The only real fact in Mr. Simons’ statement was that New Zealanders in speech and mannerisms were more English than were Australians.
