Roxburgh Health Camp The Southland children now staying at the King George V Memorial Health Camp at Roxburgh will return to their homes on Friday, August 24. The children selected for the sixteenth group will leave for Roxburgh on the following Monday. New Member The final phase of the by-election at Dunedin North came in the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon when the Speaker, Mr Schramm, read a message from the Clerk of Writs announcing the election of Mr Robert Walls. It is expected that the new member will take his place in the House this week. (P.A.) Honouring V.C. Winner Appreciation of his heroism on active service will be expressed to Sergeant J. D. Hinton, V.C., at a function to be held in his honour at Colac Bay tomorrow night. Southland patriotic workers will be represented by a delegation from Invercargill and a presentation of an illuminated address will be made on their behalf by the Deputy Mayor of Invercargill, Mr William Aitchisdn. The address has been signed on behalf of the patriotic organizations by Abraham Wachner, chairman of the Southland Provincial Patriotic Council and W. F. Sturman, treasurer. The Invercargill delegation will consist of the Deputy-Mayor, Mr William Bell, president of the Invercargill R.S.A., Mr J. D. Campbell, representing the joint council of the Order of St. John and the Red Cross Society, Mrs Hargest, a member of the Patriotic Council, and Captain Hamilton, of Bluff, who was associated with Sergeant Hinton’s father at the South African War.
