Building in Country
A big improvement in building activity in the Southland county is disclosed in the returns of building for the month of November. Last month 34 permits of a total value of £9794 were issued and for November 1943 the number of permits was 12 and the value £4700. For the period April 1 to November 30 this year 278 permits valued at £87,503 were issued. For the same period last year the number of permits was 179 valued at £63,008. Included in the permits issued last month were three for new dwellings and 12 for alterations and additions to dwellings.
