TRANSPORT LICENSING AUTHORITY
APPLICATIONS CONSIDERED AT GORE,
Objection to the granting of new ancillary users’ licences was raised by the secretary of the Gore and District Carriers’ Association (Mr N. M. Sandes) at a sitting of the No. 4 Transport Licensing Authority at Gore yesterday. Ivlr Sandes contended that after the war the ancillary users would interfere with the business of licensed operators and the licences would have a bearing on the rehabilitation of exservicemen. The following licences were granted: . ~ New Goods Services (Ancillary Users): J. Brown (Kaiwera), J. T. Clearwater (Te Tipua), W. A. Dickie (Tuturau), J. M. Mackay (Moa Flat), A. Marshall (Conical Hill), P. J. Mulqueen (Balfour), C. R. H. Robb (Waipounamu). Amendment: W. H. Dickie, Tuturau (extension to run to Gore). Transfer: The late C. Hall to R. J. Hamer (Glenaray). Amendments to Goods Service Licences: J. M. Hoare, Edievale (Mr Gordon Reed, Invercargill), additional vehicle authority; T. J. Stark and Son, Gore (Mr S. D. Macdonald), additional vehicle authority: R. and F. Wallis (1936) Ltd., Gore, deletion of words, for J. Speden and Son; New Zealand Express Co., Ltd., (Mr J. Matheson, Invercargill), two additional vehicle authorities for cartage of coal only and extension of present area for one vehicle authority up to 30 miles. Transfers:
T. Keating to H. J. Ballantyne (Waikaka); the late N. Robson to J. M. Tait; J. M. Tait to P. J. J. Burke; R. and F. Wallis (1936) Ltd., to F. J. Townsend; T. T. Gray to J. Wilson (Kelso). Amendment to Passenger Service: R. P. Williamson (Gore), alteration of route from Gore to Heriot. New' Taxi-Cab Licence: J. Walker (Gore), one cab authority. Transfer: D. H. Cameron to M. B. Jenkins (Mataura).
