OBITUARY
Mr Robert Angus (P.A.) AUCKLAND, October 1. The death is announced of Mr Robert Angus, a former manager of Thomas Cook and Sons, Ltd., in New Zealand. He was 76. Mr Angus retired from Cook’s after 40 years’ service in November 1931. In the days before distinguished visitors were escorted by Government departmental officials Mr Angus was responsible for many conducted tours. On one tour he accompanied Rudyard Kipling, who assured Mr Angus that his celebrated . lines about Auckland—“last, loneliest, loveliest”—would never have been written had Mr Angus not insisted that he should see all the beauties of the South Island.
