MONDAY (Before Mr R. C. Abernethy, S.M.) Harry George Batcheler, of Rlmu, a farmer, was further remanded to October 14 on a charge of assaulting James Watt. Chief Detective R. Thompson, when asking for the remand, said he thought the police would be prepared to proceed with the case on that date. Francis Hugh Walsh (Mr J. C. Prain) pleaded guilty to charges of drunkenness and a breach of his prohibition order. He was fined £1 on the first charge and convicted and discharged on the second.
