NORTHEND BOWLING CLUB
SATISFACTORY YEAR The report and balance-sheet presented to the annual meeting of the Northend Bowling Club on Saturday night disclosed that the club had had a most successful year. The finances of the club had improved and the receipts from the social room had increased substantially during the year. A pleasing feature had been the establishment of a building fund of £4OO. Mr J. Greer presided over an attendance of 30 members. It was decided that the champion nnk of the club should in future represent the club in the shield rink competition. Members going on active service are to be kept on the roll as financial members. The weekly club night was -arranged for Monday and one new member was elected and one proposed. Instead of having three selectors the club will now have only one. Prizes won during the year were presented by the president, Mr Greer. The election of office-bearers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: President, Mr J. McMuilan; vice-presidents, Messrs W. Birch and W. Robison; secretary, Mr S. C. K. Smith; treasurer, Mr J. Hannan; delegates to centre, Messrs T. D. Pearce and A. C. Millar; committee, Messrs D. M. Scandrett, W. Randle, P. A. Pearce, D. Anderson and J. A. Fraser; social committee, Messrs A. C. Millar, J. Subscriptions amounted to £157/2/6 as compared with £l3O/14/- last season, the increase being largely the result of the subscriptions being raised by 10/-.
