Philp, in the course of his monthly report to the meeting of the Fire Board yesterday. Mr Philp added that Mr Gimblett was rather anxious about the fire protection of this works. Makarewa works had a former Invercargill fireman with 17 years’ service in charge of the fire squad, and he was carrying out the training satisfactorily.
