RANGITANE’S CREW AND PASSENGERS

PRISONERS IN GERMANY (F.A.) AUCKLAND, November 14. News that about 46 of the crew and about 42 of the passengers of the Rangitane, which was sunk near New Zealand late last year by a raider, are in a German prisoners of war camp, Stalag XB, is contained on a postcard received by Mr R. Laird, of Epsom, from the Rangitane’s chief steward, Mr H. G. Anker. The card permits Mr Anker to send only a brief message, but he says he arrived at the camp on April 21 last safe and well

All he says about the journey to the camp is that it was very interesting, he adds that the camp was very cold at the time of writing and the day before, June 17, there had been a lot of snow. He concludes by asking for war news.
