INVERCARGILL MAN MISSING (P.A.) WELLINGTON. October 23. The following air casualties were announced today:— PILOT OFFICER LINDSAY BLAIR RENOLDS, R.N.Z.A.F., previously reported seriously injured on air operations, now removed from the seriously ill list; mother, Mrs D. Renolds, Te Awamutu. SERGEANT COLIN MAURICE THOMPSON, R.N.Z.A.F., missing on air operations; father, Mr R. J. Thompson, Christchurch, SERGEANT PERCY FREDERICK MEADOWS COOKE, R.N.Z.A.F., missing on air operations; mother, Mrs R. H. D. Cooke, Invercargill. SERGEANT TIMOTHY ROWLEY MURPHY, R.N.Z.A.F.. missing on air operations; mother, Mrs J. R. Murphy, Kotemaori, Hawke’s Bay. SERGEANT KENNETH ALLAN COMETTE, R.N.Z.A.F., missing on air operations; father, Mr R. A. Comette. Wellington. SERGEANT HOWARD CLIVE McLEISH HASELDEN, R.N.Z.A.F.. previously reported missing, now reclassified as missing but believed killed in action; father, Mr H. T. Haselden, Te Awamutu. SERGEANT ANTHONY JAMES HANNAH, R.N.Z.A.F., previously reported missing believed killed, death now officially presumed by the Air Ministry to have occurred in April; uncle, Mr F. H. Johnson, Wellington. PILOT OFFICER RICHARD HOPE CRUSH, R.A.F., previously reported missing believed killed, death now officially presumed by the Air Ministry to have occurred in April; father, Mr E. H. Crush, Auckland. Sergeant Cooke is the only son of Mr and Mrs Percy Cooke, 111 McMaster street, East Invercargill, He was educated at the Brydone, Middle and Southland Boys’ High Schools. He was a member of the Customs staff before enlisting. Sergeant Cooke was a member of the Old Boys’ Cricket Club and the Central Hockey Club and a prominent member of the Bible class movement in the Central Methodist Church. CASUALTIES IN N.Z.E.F. (P.A.)
